'World is crazy ... Stay strapped': Mike Epps responds to gun seizure at Indy airport

Comedian and actor Mike Epps carries a gun for protection, he said, explaining why Indianapolis International Airport police found a firearm in his bag at a security checkpoint Sunday.

The Indianapolis native, in a short address on his Instagram account, said he’d forgotten the piece was with him.

“I literally forgot that I had a pistol in my bag,” he said before explaining his need for the gun. “I carry money all the time…and these dudes are out here robbing people.”

And he sometimes finds himself unaccompanied by security as he makes his way around town.

“I’m still on some positive vibes. And sorry that it happened,” he said. “All I can tell you is that the world is crazy ... and stay strapped.”

He was in town Saturday to kick off the comedy tour he’s hosting with Cedric the Entertainer, D.L. Hughley, Earthquake & D.C. Young Fly.
