World leaders greet Thai king during APEC summit

STORY: Significant figures from countries including China, the U.S., Saudi Arabia, Japan, France, and Canada met with the royal family. The summit hopes to make progress on the discussion of the Free Trade Area of the Asia Pacific.

About 350 protesters had gathered and clashed with police about 6 miles (10 km) from the venue of the summit, said a police official.

Activists said they were protesting against the APEC summit and Thai Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha.
