World traveled photographer points his lens on Shreveport and Bossier

Nikola Olić, a Serbian-American photographer living and working in Dallas, has taken architectural photos from cities all over the world including China, Romania, Sweden and multiple cities in the United States, including Shreveport. “Architecture is a shared experience so photographing it can pose questions that we all can think about and participate in,” said Olić.

It was the golden glow of the Horseshoe Casino that first caught his eye while driving past Shreveport, “the wide-open space around it that would make it easy to photograph from various angles.”

After a few google earth searches for the rest of the city, Olić decided to drive out on a Sunday afternoon. He felt welcomed as a photographer, “I could go anywhere and explore any part of the city slowly, without sensing I am in anybody's way.”

The result was a selection of 10 images with a clean sophisticated looked of a well-seasoned photographer.

“Shreveport offers curious photographers a fascinating tapestry of architectural styles, an intriguing juxtaposition of late 19th and early 20th-century styles, and a captivating blend of modern and industrial designs.”
