From Cosmopolitan

  • Hailey Baldwin Bieber has millions of followers on Instagram, but there are some cons to that.

  • When she sat down with Cosmopolitan and her bestie Kelia Moniz to talk about the new ROXY Sister collection (it's inspired by them!), she also identified an important problem on social media.

Hailey Baldwin Bieber is one of the most famous models in the world, married to one of the most famous singers in the world (his name is Justin Bieber, ever heard of him?), so she obviously knows a thing or two about Instagram - specifically, that the Insta ecosphere has some... problems.

When I sat down with Hailey and her friend, surfer Kelia Moniz, to talk about the launch of the new ROXY Sister collection, they both had a lot to say about social media. Kelia brought up the fact that for some people, Instagram becomes about idolisation and trying to change yourself (which is fully true, let's be honest), and Hailey chimed in with her own observation.

25 sure looks good on u lover.. 🖤

"The problem too is kids become possessive over people and feel like if they think they’re hurt, they feel hurt for them and they’re hurt too, or whatever it is. They just think they know these people who are famous because their life is so exposed. And that’s what gets me, I think, the most frustrated," she said.

"I’m like, you actually don’t know me. You don’t know him. You don’t know her, you don’t know these people for real. What’s really weird to me is they create scenarios in their head of what they think is happening or what they think should happen, and I’m just like, ‘This is just so dumb. It’s so dumb.’"

She's got a point.
