New worship hall for local Jehovah's Witnesses to open in Ohioville

OHIOVILLE ― One of Beaver County's newest worship locations will open its doors this week.

According to a representative for the Jehovah's Witnesses of the United States of America, their new house of worship is scheduled to open at 6107 Tuscarawas Road on Saturday. The project was started in October 2023, with around 300 volunteers from surrounding congregations helping with the construction of the religious center.

“The volunteer spirit runs deep among our congregants,” said Perry Allen, a regional spokesperson for Jehovah’s Witnesses. “Our door-to-door ministry is what we are most known for, but volunteering on construction projects like the Kingdom Hall in Industry is an experience that many of us – men and women – treasure.”

While Jehovah's Witnesses' door-to-door ministry was temporarily suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the group was able to resume these operations in September 2022. At the time, officials reported the number of Jehovah's Witnesses grew by more than 2.5% in Beaver County and the faith saw a 3% increase in worshipers nationwide in 2021.
