‘Was it worth it?’ Reporter grabbed on TV, leading to Illinois man’s arrest, cops say

An Illinois man accused of grabbing a Chicago TV reporter during a live broadcast was arrested, officials say.

WGN reporter Gaynor Hall was providing a weather update in Shorewood, Illinois, on Saturday night, video shows. The man is then seen jumping into the live shot and blurting out an obscenity while grabbing Hall.

Hall posted on Facebook later that night, saying “it was not funny.”

“You scared me,” she wrote. “Was it worth it?”

Jackie Bange, an anchor for the TV station, also posted a photo of the suspect on Facebook.

A day later, WGN reported that Eric Farina, 20, was arrested in connection with the incident. He was charged with battery and disorderly conduct, the news outlet reported.

Farina grabbed the reporter around her shoulders and uttered a profane and disturbing statement,” police said in a statement, according to Shaw Media Illinois.
