WR Danny Amendola says ‘storm will break’ on the Texans’ losing streak

The Houston Texans are on a five-game losing streak, which matches the five-game losing streak they were on to conclude the 2020 season and lead to the host of changes that largely led to the composition of the 2021 team.

Receiver Danny Amendola is known for his two Super Bowl wins he picked up as a member of the New England Patriots from 2013-17. However, the pride of The Woodlands High School, has been on some equally disappointing teams in his career. In 2009, Amendola was a part of the St. Louis Rams, who went 1-15 that season, which meant they had a seven-game and an eight-game losing streak.

In 2019, as a member of the Detroit Lions, they finished the year on a nine-game losing streak. The next season, the Lions they finished up the year with a four-game skid.

Amendola says the losing can’t last forever.

The storm will break,” Amendola said. “You just have to keep the pedal to the metal. You just have to keep grinding. Every week is a new week. We play a new team every week. Every team in this league is good, including us. So, we just have to get out there play good football, eliminate penalties, no turnovers, stuff like that and things will start stacking up in our favor.”

For the 35-year-old, he has played in just two games this season, racking up six passes for 43 yards and a touchdown on six targets.

The key to breaking a losing streak, according to Amendola, is for each player to take responsibility.

Said Amendola: “It just comes down to doing your job really. Obviously, there’s a team goal on every play. But it comes down to every guy, every man doing their job and getting their job done. If that’s done, you’re going to have a successful play.”

The Texans will need 60 minutes’ worth of successful plays Sunday as they take on the 6-0 Arizona Cardinals on the road at State Farm Stadium.
