Wrangler Band coming to Ellwood community stage

ELLWOOD CITY ― On Saturday, the Wrangler Band takes the stage in the Ellwood City Community Plaza bringing a new song "Road Trippin'" with its signature country rock sound.

Ron George, spokesman for the group, said the plaza is one of their favorite places to play.

"The venue is perfect and It is great to be there and see so many people we know and meet some new ones," he said.

Their song "Road Trippin'" is all about being on the road and seeing where the road leads and it is leading them all over the tri-state area.

George said their new Road Trippin' T-shirts with the names of the places they are playing are very popular.

With music ranging from top-of-the-charts modern country hits to classic '80s rock and some great fiddle tunes the group is one of the crowd's favorite bands.

The long-time group is George, playing lead guitar and banjo, singing and taking care of the managerial duties; his brother, Randy, playing bass guitar and vocals; and sister, Christy George Kopsak of Chippewa Township, playing the fiddle, keyboard and vocals. On the drums is Brock Keyser of Shenango Township.

George said Brock is also a great guitarist and adds to the musical mix. Kopsak's daughters, Elayna, 12, Addison, 11, and Caylee, 10, will be on stage for a song or two, and Addison is following in her mother's footsteps playing the fiddle.

"We have fun. If we aren't having fun, the audience isn't having fun either," George said. "We just want to make it fun."

The summer concert series in the plaza is the place where the community comes together, to relax and enjoy.

The concert series is made possible by many volunteers and generous sponsorships. The performances are also sponsored by Richard and Marlene Painter, Lori Dunham and Connie MacDonald, and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Performances have also been made possible by the Caroline Knox Memorial Fund and the May Emma Hoyt Foundation.
