WRANGLERS ROUNDUP: Ice Wolves sweep Amarillo over the weekend
After a stellar start to the season, the Amarillo Wranglers have had a rough go of it as of late. That was the case this past weekend as they were swept by the New Mexico Ice Wolves.
After beginning the year 6-0-0-0, Amarillo is now 7-4-0-1. The most recent losses came on Friday and Saturday on the road to the Ice Wolves.
Friday night was a rough one as the Wranglers fell 5-2. After New Mexico pulled ahead 3-0 in the first period, Amarillo managed a goal a piece in the second and third periods, but the Ice Wolves answered each.
Amarillo was far more competitive in the second game. The Ice Wolves score the only goal of the first while the Wranglers scored the only goal of the second. Unfortunately, New Mexico scored twice in the final period to win 3-1.
This week, Amarillo returns home to the Budweiser Bull Pen for a pair of games against the Oklahoma Warriors. The first game will be played at 11 a.m. on Thursday while the second will take place at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
