Wreck claims life of Kentucky man

Nov. 11—A 23-year-old Kentucky resident was killed Wednesday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash on FM 1788 in Midland.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Gavin Sexton of Jenkins, Kentucky was traveling north on FM 1788 in a Nissan Altima when traffic came to a halt five miles west of Midland around 12:20 p.m.. Sexton failed to control his speed, swerved into oncoming traffic and hit a Mack truck with trailer head-on, DPS stated in a news release.

The driver of the truck, a 54-year-old man from Midland, was taken to Midland Memorial Hospital in stable condition.
