Officers stopping a 2011 Chevrolet Impala for speeding and a tag violation Saturday, Dec. 16, discovered a loaded AR-15 rifle and 9mm semi-automatic handgun in the possession of the possession of the driver, who also happened to be a convicted felon.

A spokesman for the Wrens Police Department said that an officer from that department pulled the vehicle over on GA Highway 4 South just after 2 a.m.

The driver, 22-year-old Jasiha Murray of both Atlanta and Harlem, who was also in the possession of marijuana, was discovered to be a convicted felon and therefore not legally allowed to possess a firearm.

He was subsequently charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, speeding, and removing or affixing license plate with intent to conceal or misrepresent and DUI.
