Wrestling rewind: Hamilton tops Zeeland West; Dux, Dutch, Chix split

ZEELAND - The Hamilton wrestling team defeated Zeeland West 72-6 and West Catholic 72-12 on Wednesday night in a quad. Zeeland West also defeated Wyoming 67-9.

Going undefeated for the Hawkeyes were: Malachi Kapenga, Ethan Goodwin, Bryce Morrison, Michael Olson, Eli Ramsey, Jake Chase, Brandon Olson, Bryce Tucker, Remy Foster, Shane Dams and Seth Nevins.

The Dux celebrated their senior night, honoring Keagan Cornell, Noah Quick, Evan Walters, Seth Frye and Nate Machiele.

Going undefeated on the night for the Dux was Aiden Chavez. Going 1-1 were Kham Phothisan, Justin Sanchez, Robert Dodd, Alexis Cerritos, Jackson Burkhour, Izaac Overweg, Noah Quick, Seth Frye, Troy Postema, Nate Machiele and Brody Smeyers.

Holland splits

The Holland Wrestling Team stays undefeated in OK Green league play with a win over Muskegon,61-13. But in a non-conference dual, Holland dropped to Fruitport, 30-48, during their second match of the night. Holland moved their record to 9-2 on the season.

Getting two wins for the varsity squad tonight was Aiden Segovia, Joel Morin, Israel Castro, Gustavo Alonzo and Dylan Flores. Going 1-0 were Robert Wiersma and John Deleon.

Zeeland East splits

Zeeland East defeated Grand Rapids Union 56-21 and then lost to Allendale 66-12.

Undefeated on the night were Gavin Drenten at 126 and Parker Williams at 285.
