Wright State University, Air Force Research Laboratory announce partnership

Through a new partnership, Wright State University will now provide office and laboratory space to Air Force personnel.

The space will be housed in the Neuroscience Engineering Collaboration Building, which also houses the region’s only advanced magnetic resonance imaging scanner dedicated exclusively to research, according to a release.

The “state-of-the-art” MRI scanner will be a focal point of the partnership, the release states.

The scanner was funded through a competitive Defense Department program supporting academic research infrastructure essential to support future research, according to the university.

“The partnership between Wright State University and the Air Force Research Laboratory is a great example of how our public institutions can be instrumental in helping our military advance important research,” DeWine said. “This partnership strengthens both institutions and makes Dayton an even more attractive region for leading-edge research.”

Husted called the relationship “vital” to the region.

“The success of Wright State and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base is vital to the success of the Dayton region and Ohio. This partnership makes both institutions stronger and better positions the Dayton region for more research, investment and high-quality jobs,” Husted said.
