Write-ins elected in four Clinton County cities; full countywide results announced

Nov. 15—CLINTON — The Clinton County city of Toronto's mayor-elect won by three votes.

That's not a margin of three. It's just three write-in votes.

On Tuesday, the county's Board of Supervisors, canvassed the results of the Nov. 7 city and school district elections. Some cities didn't have enough candidates or none at all, so the County Auditor's Office had to dig into the write-in votes. Ties were broken by supervisors drawing names from a bowl.

In Toronto, Brenda Kay won mayor. Dana Pelley, with four votes, was elected to the City Council alongside Angela Kauffman (3 votes), Bruce Ewoldt (2) Deana Sanders (1) and Rob Kauffman (1).

In Low Moor, Courtney Goldensoph with 23 write-in votes, and Angelia Clark, with 20 were elected into City Council seats lacking a candidate.

Now, it's up to the write-ins to decide whether they will serve or not.
