Writing workshop being offered
Nov. 4—FRANKLIN COUNTY — The Franklin County Public Library District is offering a writing workshop at two locations. The first is scheduled for a 5 p.m. start at the Brookville Library and the second for a 6 p.m. start on Nov. 14.
Both workshops will feature author Don Kaufman.
A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Kaufman retired from teaching in 2016 after having spent 50 years as an educator at all levels, from pre-K and grade school through college and graduate school.
Presently, Kaufman is an author and the managing partner of Berg Kaufman Publishing; he is also the executive director of The Oxford Society, a nonprofit organization he and his wife, Patricia, established in 2003.
Kaufman will be regaling patrons with tales of his books The Monkey Brothers: Adventures in Thailand and The Wisdom of John Prine came to be. He will also read some passages from each book, take questions and comments, and talk about his writing process and how it may help future authors in their writing endeavors.
