West Texas A&M has placed a league-high 189 athletes on the Lone Star Conference Commissioner's Spring Honor Roll. 67 of those WT athletes earned a perfect 4.0 GPA.
According to the release put out by WT, "The Commissioner's Honor Roll is announced at the conclusion of the fall and spring semesters, with student-athletes qualifying based on grade point average for the current semester." Athletes must have a minimum of a 3.30 GPA for the semester to earnt a spot on the honor roll.
The 67 athletes with a 4.0 GPA was the third best mark in the conference.
CROSS COUNTRY ANNOUNCES SUMMER CAMP
WT cross country coach Zach Daniel that the program will run their 2022 overnight summer camp July 17-21. Students aged 15-18 are welcome and participation is $400 per person.
The goal of the camp is to give participants a pre-college experience and training.
The press release states, "Campers are required to bring running shoes, cross country spikes, running and casual apparel as well as overnight utilities and toiletries."
Runners will stay in the college dormitories and will be provided meals in the dining hall.
MEN'S BASKETBALL OPENS REGISTRATION FOR AUGUST CAMP
Men's basketball coach Tom Brown has announced a summer camp set for August.
First through 12th graders are invited to participate in the camp Aug. 1-3 at the First United Bank Center. The press release states, "The camp is designed to improve the fundamental techniques of players and to explore advanced practices of the game while also offering instruction from the WT coaching staff."
