WT ROUNDUP: Two softball players make All-Regional team

Two members of the West Texas A&M softball team have received recognition for their outstanding play this season.

Ruby Salzman and Brittni Rufus were named to the NFCA All-South Central Region team.

Rufus was chosen as a member of the second team. The sophomore finished her first year with the Lady Buffs with a batting average of .417. She was also outstanding on defense with just one error on the season with 39 putouts.

Salzman made the list after hitting .385 with 10 home runs and 37 RBI on the season.

Braylyn Dollar returning to Lady Buffs basketball team

After a year away, Braylyn Dollar is returning to Canyon.

WT women's basketball coach Josh Prock has announced Dollar will return to the Lady Buffs after spending last year with Sam Houston State.

Dollar played in 24 contests for the Bearcats last season with an average of 1.2 points per game. Prior to that, however, she spent the 2018-21 seasons with WT, averaging 6.9 points per contest in 87 games. The Lubbock Monterey product is a two-time winner of the Lone Star Conference Sixth Woman of the Year award.

Wilson wins national award

After breaking a 28-year-old record over the weekend, Jahmaal Wilson has been recognized nationally for his performance.

Wilson has be awarded the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association National Athlete of the Week. He's the second Buff to win the award this season after Benjamin Azamati.

Wilson finished the 110-meter hurdles in just 13.35 seconds at the WT Last Chance meet on Sunday.
