Wuhan Light Show Marks End of Lockdown in Former Coronavirus Epicentre
Bridges and major buildings in Wuhan, China, were lit up just after midnight on April 8 to mark the lifting of a 76-day lockdown on the city where the coronavirus pandemic was thought to have originated.
The light show went for half an hour and featured displays on buildings on both sides of the Yangtze River, according to local media.
The lockdown on the capital of Hubei province was put in place on January 23, preventing all inbound and outbound travel by road, rail and ferry in an attempt to contain the spread of the virus, later named COVID-19.
