WWE star Sonya Deville featured in movie filmed in Pinellas County

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — Daria Berenato, also known as WWE’s Sonya Deville, will be featured in a new movie that’s being filmed in Clearwater.

She will play a police officer in the TV movie, “DNA Secrets.”

The movie is being produced by former Clearwater Marine Aquarium CEO David Yates, Peter Foldy and Duke Fleischer. Yates helped create the “Dolphin Tale” franchise, which followed the story of Winter, a famous dolphin who lost her tail.

On Monday, the crew filmed at the Clearwater Historical Society.

Yates said DNA Secrets follows Marci, an antique store owner, after she opens “Pandora’s box” by gifting her relatives with DNA kits to explore their heritage. Soon after, several of her family members are found murdered and Marci realizes she could be next. She later finds out that she’s at the heart of a mystery and has put her entire family in danger.

A release date for the movie hasn’t been announced yet.
