Wyomissing synagogue to hold Jewish Food Festival drive-thru on Nov. 7 [Religion Digest]

Oct. 23—Reform Congregation Oheb Sholom, 555 Warwick Drive, Wyomissing. will hold its Jewish Food Festival drive-thru on Nov. 7 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The 21st annual festival features brisket, corned beef sandwiches, bagels with lox and cream cheese, matzoh ball soup and Oheb Sholom's signature apple cake.

Pre-ordering is strongly recommended at OhebSholom.org. The deadline for placing orders is Nov. 3. A limited number of items will be available for purchase on the day of the event for cash only.

----St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 117 E. Arch St., Fleetwood, will host a concert by Triumphant Quartet on Oct. 31 at 3 p.m. Doors open at 2. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for children under 12. Kissinger's Church, 715 Berkshire Blvd., Wyomissing, will hold a chicken potpie dinner and concert next Saturday. The meal will be from 4 to 6 p.m. with the concert by The Reinwalds and Lee Schappell to follow. Cost is $9 for adults; $5 for ages 5-10; free for under 5. Take out will be available.

St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 5 Brooke Manor, Birdsboro, will hold its fourth annual Trunk or Treat next Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m., rain or shine. The event is free and will feature food, fun Halloween-themed music, a moon bounce decorated trunks and candy. All are welcome. The latest COVID protocols will be in effect. Masks must be worn indoors. If you or your organization would like to host a trunk, register with the church office at 610-582-8167. Trunk set up will be at 3 p.m. the day of the event.

Zion Evangelical Congregational Church, 57 N. Church Street, Mohnton, will be holding its first in-person Rally Day since October 2019 on Sunday at 9 a.m. Piercing Word will present the message through words and music. Lynn Campbell, superintendent, will lead the service. A Rally Day offering, benefitting the Myerstown School of Theology, Zion's Missions Committee and a new roof for the Sunday School wing will be collected. Masks are optional.

Christ Lutheran Church, 222 Niantic Road, Barto, will hold a worship service Sunday at 9 a.m. Prior to the worship service, Coffee & Conversation will be held at 8:30 in the Welcome Center, and after worship there will be Coffee & Conversation as well. Adult Bible study will be held at 10 a.m. in the parlor.

Reformation Lutheran Church, 3670 Perkiomen Ave., Exeter Township, will hold in-person worship Sunday at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. Masks are required. The 10:30 service will be livestreamed on Facebook. The Reformation choir, under the direction of Dr. Heidi Rochlin, director of music, will lead worship at the 10:30 service. Sunday School, for all ages, begins at 9:30. West Lawn United Methodist Church, 15 Woodside Ave., will be offering Wednesday night meals from 4:30 to 6:45 p.m. in the West Lawn Community Center, 101 Woodside Ave. Community members are invited to attend. The cost is $9 per person, and all proceeds go toward local missions. West Lawn UMC also offers four in-person worship services on Sunday: 8 and 11 a.m., traditional worship services, and 9:30 and 11:10, contemporary worship services. Schwarzwald United Church of Christ, 75 Church Lane Road, Exeter Township, will be holding Preschool Sunday in-person and on Zoom at 10:30 a.m. It will also be available on YouTube. Christ Episcopal Church, 435 Court St., Reading, will hold three in-person worship services on Sunday, all including Holy Eucharist: at 8, there will be a said service (no music); at 9, a service for families with young children; and at 10:15, a service with music. Everyone attending these services is asked to wear a mask. Parking is available at the Abe Lincoln Hotel parking garage and the M & T Bank lot, both off of Washington street. Alsace Lutheran Church, 2201 Kutztown Road, Muhlenberg Township,

will host a Trunk or Treat on Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. Rain date is Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. Everyone is welcome to come in costume, vote for the best decorated car and get some special treats.

Trinity United Church of Christ, 2449 Cumberland Ave., Mount Penn, will hold in-person worship Sunday at 10:15 a.m. Adult church school will be held at 9. Masks are recommended for everyone regardless of COVID-19 vaccination status. The service will also be recorded and posted on Facebook.

St. John's Lutheran Church, 45 N. Reading Ave., Boyertown, will hold a Fallen Comrade ceremony next Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., honoring veterans who might suffer from emotional distress. The church is open for in-person worship Sundays at 9:30 a.m. Registration is required in advance on the church website, www.stjohnsboyertown.org, or by calling the office. St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 5 W. Arch St., Fleetwood, will have two worship services on Sunday, at 9 a.m. in the sanctuary and online and at 10:30 a.m. outside. weather permitting. Maidencreek Church, 261 Main St., Maidencreek Township, will hold a hybrid worship service Sunday at 9 a.m. during which new members will be received. Music includes a vocal duet with Rodney Beard and Kimberly Ayrton; a duet with Davin Haas on organ and Kimberly Ayrton on piano; a vocal solo by Becky Wright; as well as a congregational hymn. Good Shepherd United Church of Christ, 170 Tuckerton Road, Muhlenberg Township, will be gathering on Sunday at 9 a.m. for Faith Formation for all ages and 10:30 a.m. both virtually and in-person for worship. Following worship, Casteneda's Mexican Food Truck will be in the parking lot, with 20% of the proceeds going toward the church's local ministry.
