Wyomissing coach Bob Wolfrum expressed pride in his team after it completed an undefeated regular season and won the Lancaster-Lebanon League Section 4 title with a 21-0 win over Lampeter-Strasburg Saturday at the A-Field.

The Spartans (7-0, 10-0) held the Pioneer (6-1, 8-2) to less than 100 total yards in winning their Berks-record 35th straight regular season game and the showdown for the section title.

"I think our defense was great all day, but that's been us for the past couple of years," Wolfrum said.

After forcing the Pioneers to punt on their opening possession, the Spartans put together a 14-play 82-yard drive that ended with a 4-yard touchdown run by senior Matthew Kramer.

Lampeter-Strasburg punted again and Wyomissing followed with another long drive, one that lasted 11 plays and resulted in a 4-yard touchdown run by junior Ryker Jones.

Senior Drew Eisenhower stopped a Pioneer drive near the end of the fist half when he intercepted a pass by Trent Wagner at the Spartans' 32.

The third quarter was a defensive, with each team forcing two punts.

Kramer scored his second touchdown on a 16-yard run with 34 seconds left in the third quarter.

The Pioneers simply could not get anything going in the fourth quarter either, being forced to punt following two three-and-outs.

Kramer finished with 85 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries. Senior Ben Zechman completed four passes for 68 yards.

The Spartans went into the Week 10 atop the District 3 Class 3A power rankings and will have a first-round bye. They will open the playoffs at home on Nov. 12. The final power rankings will be released Sunday at 10 a.m.
