The X Factor host Dermot O'Leary has appealed to his fans for help after his wedding ring was stolen.

The presenter took to Twitter on Friday (August 21) to reveal that his wedding ring and bag had been taken by someone at the gym.

While he doesn't hold much hope of seeing them again, he's now calling on social media to help identify the thief.

After Westminster police shared an image of the suspect, O'Leary retweeted the post and wrote: "Sadly this was my wedding ring & bag that was stolen.

"I'm sure I won't see them again, but I'd really like it if he didn't have the opportunity to steal yours. Please have a good look at the picture & if you recognise him call 101 ref 6195/21aug Dx."

The original post from Westminster police read: "Do you recognise this man? We wish to speak to him re theft of a bag from a gym in Mortimer Street W1 on 13 Aug.

"Items stolen include a wedding ring etched on inner side with '14/9/12 Team KO'. Pls call police on 101 ref 6195/21aug with any info about the man or the stolen ring."

Last month, O'Leary revealed that he and his wife, producer and director Dee Koppang O'Leary, had named their baby boy Kasper.

He made the announcement on his BBC Radio 2 show, saying: "As I mentioned earlier, my son came into this world about 10 days ago accompanied by my favourite band – a lovely Guy Garvey Elbow accompaniment.

"So forgive this moment of brief self-indulgence while we play the song that accompanied that. So this is for you, Kasper with a K – my wife is very insistent on that. Kasper Koppang O'Leary, welcome to the world."
