'Xavier was robbed tonight': Twitter reacts to goaltending call at end of Butler's win
The Butler men's basketball team won in dramatic fashion on Friday night over No. 15 Xavier, but the end of the game was certainly controversial.
Tied with less than 10 seconds to play, Eric Hunter Jr. took the inbound pass, went coast-to-coast and attempted a dunk. Xavier's Jack Nunge seemingly got the block, but Xavier was called for goaltending as Colby Jones' hand hit the rim.
The play was reviewed and the officials determined the call would stand. Not everyone agreed.

Xavier coach Sean Miller was asked about the game-winning play after the contest.
"Whether it was a good call, bad call, was irrelevant. We really didn’t deserve to win."

Not sure I understand this call. Looked like Xavier just blocked a shot at the rim with 2.5 seconds left. Looked like refs called goaltending. Officials are reviewing it

Xavier was robbed tonight. Two TERRIBLE goaltending calls (including the game-winner), and X loses by 2.

The fact that they reviewed this and still went with goaltending is horrific. Block clearly happens first https://t.co/7uKmM2PauD

No idea what goaltending is anymore. Two clean blocks called incorrectly gifts Butler the W

the point is that officials will call goaltending in that situation almost automatically because they know they can review it. If you don't call it, it can't be reviewed. This is why I don't like replays. Too many delays and unintended consequences. Get rid of all of them! https://t.co/IXBb0dFQEN

Everyone is freaking out about the game ending goaltending call in the Xavier v Butler game. It was the right call. The fans should be mad about their first goaltend call and the fact that they couldn’t overturn the no timeout technical when the Butler player was out of bounds

The defender that isn’t nungee grabbed the rim while the ball was on the rim. Goaltend, good win butler #gofriars
