OddsChecker: Take Xavier with the points vs. Texas

It writes: "Xavier is simply a terrible matchup for the Longhorns. They are going to use their size and athleticism to get to the line and dominate on the glass. They have the three point shooting to hang around even if Texas is able to take advantage of a weak Xavier defense. It would take a herculean defensive effort from Texas in this one to cover a 4 point spread. Could it happen? Sure. Would it be the smart bet? Not in my opinion."

Bleacher Nation: Texas 77, Xavier 73

Andy Molitor writes: "Texas is 10-11 against the spread when favored by 4 points or more this season. In games this season in which it was an underdog by 4 points or more, Xavier has a 3-2 record against the spread. Between them, these two teams average 11.4 more points per game (158.9) than this matchup’s total (147.5)."

College Football News: Texas 76, Xavier 72

Pete Fiutak writes: "Can Texas keep this at its own pace? It might be fantastic at cranking up the offense, and it's a whole lot deeper and even better on the move. On the flip side, Xavier is better on the boards and leads the nation in assists. Both teams can crank up the O. One team is better on D."

Sports Chat Place: Go with Texas to cover vs. Xavier

It writes: "I’ll probably lean toward Texas in this one. The Longhorns did a solid job against a good Penn State team in their last matchup, shooting 50.8 percent from the field with 37 rebounds and just five turnovers. Texas was ice cold from 3-point range however, making just one of their 13 tries. Still, there’s not much to complain about when it comes to the Longhorns right now. As for Xavier, they’re looking pretty good right now themselves. The Musketeers had six different players with double-digit points in the Pittsburgh game, propelled by 47.6 percent shooting from the field, 22 assists and just eight turnovers. Xavier has 72 or more points in seven of their last eight outings, so this one could very well end up a high total. I don’t think the Musketeers will quite keep the pace with Texas, however."
