Paul Scruggs pulled Xavier back against Butler in the final moments of their opening round game of the Big East Tournament.
Scruggs sank several highlight reel shots in the final moments of the game to keep Xavier's season alive. And then, inexplicably, Scruggs fouled Butler guard Simas Lukosius with 5.1 seconds left.
That allowed Lukosius to step up to the foul line and sink two free throws to tie the game 68-68 at the end of regulation at Madison Square Garden.
Scruggs finished the game with 15 points, six assists and three rebounds. Before that final sequence, Scruggs kept Xavier in the game with incredible shots like this one:

"What he did on the one end counted, but he had difficulty on the other," color analyst Bill Raftery said on the Fox Sports 1 broadcast.
Scruggs misses the FT and gets called for a foul on Simas Lukosius. That's Scruggs' fifth foul.
There's 4.7 left and Xavier leads 68-66.
