KRYSTEN PEEK: James Wiseman is a 7' 1" center out of Memphis and was the number one ranked player out of high school. Wiseman chose hometown school Memphis over Kentucky because he wanted to play for head coach Penny Hardaway and assistant coach Mike Miller. He averaged 19.7 points and 10.7 rebounds in only three games this season after the NCAA suspended him for 12 games due to a recruiting violation.

In December, he left school early and hired an agent. And Wiseman has been in Miami preparing for the draft ever since. When looking at his strengths, he has great size in the lane and a strong back to the basket mid-range game.

He needs to work on his perimeter shooting and his pick-and-pop option for the next level. When I ask NBA scouts about Wiseman's player comp, a lot of them say Chris Bosh. Like Bosh, he's left-handed, extremely athletic, and can run the floor very well. Wiseman has long been considered a top-three draft pick, but it will be interesting to see where he falls after his very short college basketball career.
