Yale law student on bicycle struck by car, killed near Yale New Haven Health

A 25-year-old Yale Law School student was struck by a car and killed Tuesday afternoon in New Haven.

The crash happened just after 4 p.m. when the man was struck on his bike down the street from Yale New Haven Health at South Frontage Road and York Street, Capt. Anthony Duff said.

A passing North Branford Fire Department ambulance and American Medical Response supervisor stopped to render aid to the victim and transported him to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Duff said.

Police did not immediately indicate whether the driver of the vehicle that hit the bicyclist remained on the scene and further information about the crash was not available early Tuesday evening.
