Yarmouth woman, 56, died Wednesday after being hit by a car

WEST YARMOUTH — A 56-year-old woman was killed Wednesday after she was struck by a motor vehicle, according to a press release from the Yarmouth Police Department. The woman was identified as Dawn Squires of Yarmouth.

Rescuers were notified of the incident at 7:20 p.m. The crash occurred in the area of 115 Route 28 in West Yarmouth. Squires was taken to Cape Cod Hospital where she was pronounced dead, according to the release.

Further comment from police was not immediately available Thursday morning .

The crash remains under investigation, according to the release.
