Here's a look at upcoming events and venues to ring in the new year here in metro Detroit.
Free events
Here's some options free of charge:
Join a 5k walk/run at Ford Field in Dearborn at 10 a.m. Organizers with Zaman Detroit Run Team will be fundraising $5,000 for Gaza aid.
Stop by your town's library to pick up a new book, magazine or movie. Start the new year by expanding your horizons, learn a new language or dive into a world of fantasy.
Explore the outdoors at your local park. The region hosts a variety, including the Huron-Clinton Metroparks in Macomb County, Belle Isle Park in Detroit, Maybury State Park in Northville, and city parks throughout metro Detroit.
Paid events
There will also be a variety of private events, at cost.
Catch the Rose Bowl game at Emagine Theatres at 5 p.m. Tickets are $20.
Hit the ice rink downriver, at United Skates Lincoln Park. The event runs from 12:30 to 3 p.m. at 1419 Southfield Road. Admission cost is $10, with a $5 skate rental fee.
Get your morning stretches in with New Year's Day WERQ at the Z Spot Fitness Studio in Canton. The 90 minute workout to the best songs of 2023 starts at 9:30 a.m. Guests can register online for the $15 event.
Gather with loved ones for a New Year's Day brunch at the Dixboro Project. The Ann Arbor restaurant will offer brunch from 9 to 9:30 a.m., with reservations available online.
