Yellow Jacket Anglin signs with Brewton-Parker

Apr. 28—THOMASVILLE — Thomas County Central's Reagan Anglin sat down on Wednesday to make his college decision. After talking with his coach and family, Anglin decided to sign on to play soccer at Brewton-Parker College.

Anglin has played soccer for the Yellow Jackets in all four years of his high school career. He started on the JV squad and, in his sophomore year, moved to varsity where he was a starter for all three years. While Anglin plays in the outside defender role, he is a defender who is willing to go in the offensive if he has the opportunity, something that Head Coach Tony Voyles thinks fit the team very well.

"He was just a really exceptional player for our team in the style of play that we look to play for the last two years especially," said Voyles.

Now, Anglin will move on from TCC and head to Mount Vernon to continue his soccer career at Brewton-Parker. Voyles said he believes Anglin will fit in well with the Barons. Voyles credited the unteachable things, such as Anglin's athleticism that will make him a great collegiate player.

"I think he'll be great," said Voyles. "He's got a lot of speed and athleticism and you just can't teach that so, that will help him tremendously. He's very skilled on the ball, he's an intelligent defender, so I think he'll fit in nicely at the college level."

Anglin was a quiet leader for the Yellow Jackets squad. Not the type to get in anyone's face, he often led by example. He utilized his toughness and hard work to provide a spark for his teammates. According to Voyles, Anglin never missed a practice even after he broke his nose.

"He came to work every single day. I honestly don't think he ever missed a single day of practice during his four years of playing high school soccer for me," Voyles said. "That's unheard of. He's playing through sickness. He broke his nose during preseason this year, collided with another player on our team and broke his nose and he still did not miss a single day of practice."

The Barons of Brewton-Parker are getting a special player in Reagan Anglin. His skill on ball and as a defender will make him a great addition to the program on the pitch and his toughness will take him far.
