A 'Yellowjackets' activation is coming to SXSW, and we're freaking out
Gather 'round the campfire. We've got a question: Did you also dedicate your winter 2021 months to watching Showtime's "Yellowjackets," a series about a high school soccer team stranded in the woods for 19 months?
If you answered, "Yes, duh, I love those possible cannibals," then we've got news for you. The series is coming to South by Southwest this year in the form of a summer camp-style activation, aptly titled Camp Yellowjackets, Showtime announced in a news release Tuesday.
The camp will run the first weekend of SXSW from March 10-12 at Fair Market, 1100 E. Fifth St. March 10 will be an invite-only, sneak-peek event. Camp Yellowjackets will be open to the public from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. March 11-12 on a first come, first serve basis.

Fair Market will be made over to look like an abandoned 1990s summer camp that visitors can peruse. Barbecue, drinks and an ax-throwing course will be available, as well as hidden Easter eggs from the show. And (this is our favorite part) special guest appearances from members of the "Yellowjackets" cast are also on the itinerary. The talent lineup has not been announced.
"Camp Yellowjackets is an exclusive, excitingly unsettling, 'Yellowjackets'-themed destination,” Puja Vohra, executive vice president of market at Showtime, said in a statement. “It’s been our passion and our privilege to open up the world of this amazing series to viewers everywhere, and we can’t wait for 'Campers' to immerse themselves in clues of what really happened out there."

The camp comes before the second season of "Yellowjackets" premieres on streaming and VOD for Showtime subscribers on March 24. It will make its on-air debut on March 26.
