Yellowjackets' Courtney Eaton has revealed she was up for the role of Rey in the most recent Star Wars trilogy.

The Aussie star, known for playing young Lottie Matthews on the survival teen mystery drama, looked back on her audition for Interview magazine. Eaton opened up to Simone Kessell, who joined Yellowjackets this season as adult Lottie and is part of the SW universe thanks to her role in Obi-Wan Kenobi.

"I was up for the Star Wars role that Daisy Ridley ended up doing," Eaton said, recalling she flew out to LA to meet director JJ Abrams.

"It was an intense scene, but I wasn't getting it, and I was getting really frustrated with myself," she shared.

"It was a test with the costume director and JJ Abrams, so essentially I ended up getting so worked up that I had a panic attack and ruined my audition."

The Mad Max: Fury Road actress described The Force Awakens audition as the moment that "will forever haunt" her.

"They were really sweet about it, but I'd say that would be my most embarrassing [role] to lose," she said.

"That one will forever haunt me. And to be fair, I was really young at the time, and Daisy did an amazing job and she suited it more than I did, but it is funny to look back on."

Eaton recently reprised the role of Lottie in the second season of Yellowjackets, which aired its season finale last week.

This gruesome follow-up upped the ante on the cannibalistic scenes and ended on a pretty shocking cliffhanger, which an already confirmed third season may help unravel.

Yellowjackets airs on Showtime in the US and Paramount+ in the UK.
