‘Yellowstone’ actors, show creator to attend fundraising event Friday at Will Rogers

The 2021 Careity Celebrity Cutting event scheduled for Friday at Will Rogers Memorial Coliseum will feature stars from the drama series “Yellowstone” while promoting fundraising for cancer treatment.

Show creator Taylor Sheridan, actors Cole Hauser, who plays “Rip,” Kelly Reilly, who plays “Beth Dutton,” and Mo Brings Plenty will be in attendance. Forrie Smith, who plays “Lloyd” on the show, said in a social media post that he will participate in the competition.

The Careity Foundation provides direct care to save lives, give hope, ease pain and allow cancer patients and families to focus on healing, according to the organization’s website.

Cutting is a challenge with Old West origins. In cutting, competitors must select a single calf from the herd, gently guide it into the center of the arena and prevent it from ducking past the horse and escaping back into the herd.

The competition is judged by a panel who rate the horse’s performance in points which can range from 60 to 80 points, according to the Careity website.

The celebrity cutting event will include a silent auction for fundraising along with a concert.

Doors open for the event at 6:30 p.m. and showtime starts at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets for general admission are $20 and can be purchased at prekindle.com under the event titled “Careity Celebrity Cutting 2021.” Smith said in his post that those interested can also call the foundation at 817-882-4100 for tickets.

The fourth season of “Yellowstone” started airing on Paramount Network in November with new episodes on Sundays. The prequel series “Y:1883,” which had scenes filmed in the Fort Worth Stockyards, will air Dec. 19.
