Yes, a Memphis-area Target carries Montana Grizzlies merch — and it sells
If you’re looking for Grizzlies gear, head over to Target in Horn Lake — though you might find something unexpected.
A tweet over the weekend gained traction as Twitter users wondered why merchandise for the University of Montana Grizzlies could be found at this Target location among the usual Memphis Grizzlies and Tigers products.
Store manager Arthur Robertson said the Montana Grizzlies display has been a regular feature at the store for awhile.
“Since last year I want to say, we’ve had those,” he said. “We don’t place the order, they just send it to us, so I don’t know if someone thought, ‘Oh Grizzlies, click’ and sent it to us, but we do have both.”
Robertson said he’s seen Montana gear in other stores too, including Bed Bath & Beyond. Even stranger, the Montana merch actually gets some sales.
“I think some people buy them probably thinking it’s probably Memphis Grizzlies, that are visiting from out of town and don’t know,” he said. “And it’s football, so…”
So if you’re a Montana fan far from home, at least you don’t have to order online to rep the U of M — University of Montana, that is.
