People waiting at a vaccination clinic in Pittsfield, Massachusetts over the weekend got a surprise performance from Yo-Yo Ma, after the world-renowned cellist got his second shot of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Others who had also been newly-inoculated at Berkshire Community College were treated to "Ave Maria" and the prelude to Bach's "Cello Suite No. 1" as they sat to wait out their mandatory 15-minute observation period.

The 65-year-old virtuoso is a part time resident of the area and told local paper The Berkshire Eagle that he wanted to "give something back" to his community.

The impromptu mini concert came exactly one year after the celebrated cellist uploaded the first of what would become a series of performances posted on social media throughout the pandemic using the hashtag #SongsOfComfort.
