AUBURN — The owner of two Eastern Massachusetts Chinese restaurants has purchased Yong Shing at 90 Auburn St. for $1.4 million.

Min Xia Li said her brother, Jason Li, is serving as the manager and the restaurant reopened last week after closing for a week to undergo inspections and address any issues with the health department.

"Everything is all set," she said on Monday. "We are open. We opened last week."

While patrons won't see any immediate changes, Li said she plans to adjust the menu after spending some time getting to know customers and their preferences.

She does hope to add sushi to the menu and will work with the chef to determine whether he has any specialty dishes to add.

Li said she rehired all of the Yong Shing staff who wanted to keep their jobs. She's currently hiring additional staff and visiting the restaurant twice a week.

Li also owns Ming Du in Stoughton and Koi Chinese Cuisine & Lounge in Attleboro, both of which have 4 stars from Yelp reviewers.

Li said she has more than 20 years of experience in the restaurant business as does her younger brother.

The property was purchased from Chao Lee LLC. Christine Lee and Michael Chau are listed as the managers for the LLC.

Yong Shing has operated for decades in Auburn, originally located at 338 Southbridge St.

The restaurant moved to the Auburn Street location in 2008.
