- The New York Blood Center has announced a blood shortage, and they need your help. The agency says it's currently has a four day supply of blood, far below what's needed by area hospitals. Donors with type O and type B blood are particularly needed. NYBC says it currently has a one to two day supply of these blood types. To find out how you can help, go to CBSNewYork.com.
