York County lifts boil water advisory in Fort Mill after ‘flushing’ out contamination

Fort Mill residents in the Regent Park area are no longer under a boil water advisory due to a water main break, York County officials announced Saturday evening.

York County Water and Sewer Department said after an “intense flushing” of the area’s distribution system, water samples were collected and analyzed by Pace Analytical Laboratory Services and the results indicated the system is now safe for drinking and cooking.

The department issued the advisory Thursday after a water main broke near Farm House Drive and Morel Avenue. According to the notice, the water main break may have contaminated the water system.

Customers there were advised to vigorously boil water for at least a minute before drinking or cooking.
