York County organization to help people file taxes

YORK COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — Wednesday’s hometown heroes are volunteers helping people file their taxes.

Doing your taxes can sometimes be a daunting task. If you don’t know where to start, there is help available.

The York County AARP Foundation tax aide program has 120 volunteers ready to offer free assistance. The program focuses on helping adults 50 and over with low to moderate income.

“The people who volunteer enjoy doing taxes and I’m sure some people find that strange because most people don’t enjoy doing taxes so we’re very fortunate to be able to help the people who are uncomfortable with this process, a lot of people get anxious they’re doing it the right way,” Mike Couch said.
