Who is York County's Iron Chef? Find out Monday at food bank competition fundraiser

More than 60,000 people in York County lack access to food, and in 2022, the York County Food Bank distributed 2.1 million healthy meals to hungry neighbors, as well as 20,000 food boxes to seniors in the area.

In a continued attempt to fight food insecurity, the York County Food Bank will host its annual Iron Chef competition fundraiser at Wyndridge Farm near Dallastown.

On Monday, Nov. 6, 2023, at 5:30 p.m., four local chefs will prepare an appetizer, main entrée and dessert using staple food items typically found at the food bank. The local chefs include:

  • Wyndridge Farm – Chef Hunter Roloson

  • The JDK Group – Chef Jay Varga

  • Avalon Ale House – Chef Matt Alright

  • Farmacy Catering – Chef Brian Cooper

The event will include guest speakers, auctions and, of course, plenty of food, which attendees will sample before voting to determine which chef will take home the title of Iron Chef.

“We look forward to sampling creations from these amazing local chefs,” said Jennifer Brillhart, York County Food Bank’s President and CEO. “And we are so grateful for all the support we have received for this event, which helps to feed the hungry in our community.”

Tickets are available at Yorkfoodbank.org.
