New York Gov. Cuomo bids new Florida resident Trump adieu: 'Good riddance'

Andrew Cuomo had a very New York response to President Trump's decision to change his residency to Florida.

Cuomo, the Democratic governor of New York, fired off a succinct tweet shortly after the news broke. "Good riddance," he said. "It's not like @realDonaldTrump paid taxes here anyway ... He's all yours, Florida."

Trump and Cuomo are not fans of each other. The state has opened investigations into Trump family businesses, and in a series of tweets this July, Trump accused Cuomo of using Attorney General Letitia James (D) to harass him. He has also complained about the state's tax rates — which may be one reason why he's off to Florida, The New York Times reports.

Cuomo responded to Trump's accusation by reminding him that the state votes for the attorney general, they are not appointed, and if "he has nothing to hide he has nothing to worry about. But I think the tweet shows that his paranoia is once again getting the better of him."
