New York Rangers name Jamie Tardif assistant coach with Hartford Wolf Pack

New York Rangers president and general manager Chris Drury announced on Monday that Jamie Tardif has been named an assistant coach with the Hartford Wolf Pack.

Tardif, 37, was most recently an assistant with the Soo Greyhounds of the Ontario Hockey League. The Greyhounds reached the playoffs twice since 2018-19, when Tardif started with the club.

As a player, Tardif played 12 professional seasons, eight of which came in the American Hockey League. He spent time with the Manitoba Moose, Iowa Stars, Grand Rapids Griffins, Providence Bruins and Rochester Americans. Tardif scored 267 career points (142 g, 125 a), playing mostly as a right winger. He served as the captain of the Griffins during the 2009-10 and 2010-11 seasons and was named an AHL All-Star during the 2012-13 season as a member of the Bruins.

Tardif reached the NHL, appearing in two games for the Boston Bruins in the 2012-13 season.

The Hartford Wolf Pack open the season on Friday, October 14 in North Carolina, and begin their home schedule on October 22 against the Wilkes Barre/Scranton Penguins.
