A new New York restaurant, pizzeria and bakery has an opening date in Bradenton

The much-anticipated Morrone’s N.Y. Deli, Restaurant, Pizzeria and Bakery has a menu, a website, social media pages and — most importantly — an opening date.

Did we say much-anticipated?

“All day long, people have been asking for weeks when we’re opening,” said owner Ermanno Morrone.

Here’s the latest: Morrone’s, 5913 53rd Ave. E., Bradenton, opens June 3 and has a grand opening planned for June 10.

For the record, the menu is titled Morrone’s of Arthur Ave in honor of the Pastry Shop and Cafe in the Arthur Avenue section of the Bronx that Ermanno Morrone opened in 2000.

“We will have an à la carte menu and specials every day,” Morrone, 47, said.

Morrone’s will also have a bakery, but no decision has been made yet on whether that might include bagels.

“We will have imported beers, other drinks and quality food products from Italy that you won’t find in a supermarket,” he said.

So, where to start when a new eatery has a restaurant and pizzeria menu, a deli menu and a catering menu?

The pizzeria and dinner menu seems like a good place.

You’ll probably find your favorites on the pizza menu. Morrone’s has everything from cheese pizza to chicken or eggplant Parmesan to meat lovers, Sicilian pies, Roman-style pizza, calzones and stromboli. Prices start at $16 for a medium.

The dinner menu offers antipasti (a traditional first course such as mussels marinara, spicy Italian meatballs, Italian-style wings and more), salads and entrees.

The entrees include Chicken Francese, Eggplant Parmesan and Cheshire Pork Chop with vinegar peppers. Entree prices start at $17.95.

Also on the dinner menu are pasta, soups and sides, as well as a kid’s menu.

Desserts include cannoli, chocolate cake, tiramisu and Nutella Pizza.

The deli menu offers a variety of nine-inch hero sandwiches, nine-inch hot heroes and party heroes — two-footers and three-footers. The deli also offers fresh, hot dishes every day from its steam table, as well as salads and a kid’s menu.

“Catering opportunities are endless,” says Morrone’s.

Indeed, catering is offered for half and full orders of lasagna, baked ziti, manicotti, ravioli, stuffed shells, eggplant dishes, parmigiana dishes and more. Also on the catering menu: appetizers, antipasto and salads.

“There are a lot of moving parts,” Morrone said of opening the new business.

“We are going to learn and accommodate and make everyone happy,” he said.
