New York transit hub evacuated after suspicious packages found

NEW YORK, Aug 16 (Reuters) - New York City authorities evacuated a major transit hub on Friday as police said they were investigating two suspicious packages.

Subway trains were bypassing the busy Fulton Street station in Lower Manhattan, where there was a heavy police presence and emergency vehicles on the scene.

A police spokeswoman said officers were investigating two suspicious packages at the station, but could not immediately provide more details.
