The New York Yankees open a three-game home series against the Oakland Athletics on Monday night, weather permitting.

First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. The game will be broadcast in New York on the YES Network and on the MLB Network nationally.

The forecast from the National Weather Service calls for "a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 9pm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain."

Paul Blackburn (6-3, 2.97) will start for Oakland, while Jordan Montgomery (3-1, 2.97) will go for New York.

The Yankees (53-20) are in first place in the American League East with the best record in baseball, while the A's (25-49) are in last place in the AL West, with the worst record in MLB.
