Eurovision 2024 is still nine months away, but we have a sneaking suspicion the international song contest is going to be queerer than ever. We obviously can’t wait!

Whether it was drag queens performing alongside Norwegian singer Ketil Stokkan way back in 1986 or bisexual pop star Loreen making history for winning the competition for a second time back in May, Eurovision has always been queer and next year’s contest is no different.

While the competition – which will be held in Malmö, Sweden with the finale airing on May 11, 2024 – is mostly still a mystery, we do have the name of one of the contestants... and RuPaul’s Drag Race fans are going to be thrilled!

If you’re not a die-hard Drag Race fan who watches all of the spin-off shows, then you might not recognize the name of one of the permanent judges on Belgium’s Drag Race Belgique.

Thomas Mustin, who goes by the name Mustii, is a Belgian actor and singer who has recorded two solo albums, including the David Bowie tribute album 21st Century Boy and The Darkest Night, a more personal album about mental health. The 32-year-old judged the queens alongside head judge Rita Baga, a finalist on Canada’s Drag Race.

Mustii took to Instagram to make the announcement to fans, writing, “This is crazy but true! I will have the honor of representing Belgium @Eurovision in Malmö, Sweden. I will try to meet this new challenge as intensely as possible while staying authentic and sincere no matter what!”

Mustii’s fellow Belgians were quick to offer their congratulations, with singer-songwriter Gustaph, who represented Belgium at Eurovision 2023, commenting, “You will be wonderful! Full support” followed by heart and rainbow emojis” and Belgium singer Typh Barrow writing, “No waaaay! So cool.”

Fans were also excited for Mustii, “You'll be the best, that's for sure! You can really be proud. What a great news!!” one wrote. Another commented, “Wonderful news! Enjoy the journey. The moments ahead will be memories that will last you a lifetime.”
