A pop-up museum celebrating the “creativity, music and legacy of Young Dolph” will be in Memphis for the next four weekends.

The tribute to the late Memphis rapper will be set up at the Agricenter International, located at 7777 N. Walnut Grove, and will launch Friday.

The museum will be open May 5-7, May 12-14 and May 19-21. The museum will also be open May 26, but closed May 27, and reopen again May 28, as part of a final day that will include a Celebrity Car Show event hosted by DJ Envy.

The Dolphland exhibit marks the short but impactful life of the hip-hop artist born Adolph Thornton Jr. The platinum rapper was killed at the age of 36 in a shooting at Makeda's Homemade Butter Cookies on Airways Boulevard on Nov. 17, 2021. Four men have been charged in connection with Dolph’s murder.

According to a news release announcing the event, the Dolphland pop-up promises “original curated art and personal items that reflect Young Dolph’s unforgettable lyricism, personality, entrepreneurial spirit, philanthropy, and historic moments from his legendary career.”

“The goal of the pop-up museum is to showcase the character of a leader and businessman,” said Daddy O, CEO of Dolph’s label Paper Route Empire, in a statement. “And to highlight the journey of someone whose early beginnings may mirror that of many young kids and entrepreneurs starting so that they may draw inspiration to keep pushing on their own endeavors.”

The Dolphland pop-up museum was curated in partnership with Trap Music Museum and has been touring nationally since January, in conjunction with the release of Dolph’s posthumous album "Paper Route Frank."

Tickets to the Dolphland pop-up museum are $40 per person and available at Thedolphlandmuseum.com.
