Suspect charged in random stabbing of a girl in McDonald’s play area, Texas cops say

A 25-year-old man has been charged in the stabbing of a young girl inside a McDonald’s in Texas, police say.

The 5-year-old girl was in the play area of the McDonald’s when the attack happened Tuesday afternoon, KTSM reported. The girl was “randomly targeted,” a police spokesman said, according to KVIA. She was stabbed in the stomach, KVIA reported.

The girl had serious injuries and went to a hospital, KFOX reported. She was in stable condition after undergoing surgery Tuesday, the TV station reported.

The suspect accused of stabbing the girl left the McDonald’s and hid inside a nearby hotel room, El Paso police tweeted.

Isaac Dorfman of El Paso was arrested at the Super Lodge, according to a news release. He was charged with injury to a child and booked into El Paso County jail on a $500,000 bond, police said.

The McDonald’s is in the 9400 block of Dyer Street on the northeast side of the city, police said.
