Young Labour slammed for tweet calling MPs who left party 'cowards' and 'traitors'
Young Labour is facing criticism for a tweet labelling the seven MPs who left the party “cowards” and “traitors.”
The group tweeted a lyric from Socialist anthem The Red Flag during a press conference in which politicians quit the party over anti-Semitism and Brexit.
The quote read: “Though cowards flinch and traitors sneer, we’ll keep the red flag flying here.”
But it was labelled “embarrassing” and “unflinchingly bitter” by some Twitter users.
Though cowards flinch and traitors sneer, we’ll keep the red flag flying here.

Writer Sara Gibbs said: “A Jewish MP tearfully leaving the party she’s dedicated her whole life to because your lot were so racist she was forced out - and this is your compassionless, chilling reaction.
“If you’re the future of the Labour Party, I hope the whole thing crumbles imminently.”
You can keep your red flag. I voted labour in the past but not for a Marxist tyranny. If Labour comes back to realistic and open politics I’ll come back too.

Comedian Bennett Arron added: “Can you ask an adult to take over the Tweeting for you?”
Shannon Green commented: “This was stupid to post. I don't agree with the split but you should take this down.
You carry on. As long as Corbyn is there, you will never win an election. I gave up my membership after 13 years and will never join again whilst he is I position.

“As a young Labour voter I do not agree with calling people traitors because they have a point of view I disagree with.”
Others said the tweet was “disgusting” and suggested it “epitomises why Labour have ended up here.”
My god. What’s wrong with you?

The MPs, including Luciana Berger, stood down today and formed a "new group of Independent MPs" in a protest over "the future of British politics" in a significant party split.
