Young Royals' third season has received a positive filming update ahead of its return to Prince Wilhelm and Simon's Sverige (or Sweden, if you're not versed in Scandi languages).

Netflix has confirmed the final instalment of the queer coming-of-age drama is currently in production, with the cast being back on set to give fans a fitting conclusion to the central gripping love story.

"Nothing but good vibes as the Young Royals cast is back on set for the third and final season!" the streamer announced on its socials today (April 13).

Netflix also shared a clip of the cast reuniting for a table read, as Edvin Ryding, who plays the prince, introduces the last season.

As the 'will they, won't they' romance between his character and the one played by Omar Rudberg seems definitely on, the third season could shake things up.

As Rudberg told Digital Spy last year, viewers are now being treated to a hefty dose of 'unconditional love' on screen, but it can't stay like that forever.

"One thing that I really just want to see is Simon and Wilhelm – will they be happy? So we can get a taste of the love. The 100% love – the unconditional love – and being together," he said.

"It can't be like that all the time. It has to be interesting. It has to wake the feelings. But that's something that I'm looking forward to, to see them like a 'we against the world' kind of thing. That would be so beautiful to see."

Whatever the third season entails, we sure hope these two could find their happy ending. At present, there isn't a confirmed release date for this new chapter, but we're potentially looking at a late 2023 debut.

Young Royals seasons 1 and 2 are now available to watch on Netflix.
